Purkiss Capital Advisors Opens Ridgefield Office

Purkiss Capital Advisors (PCA) recently opened its offices in Ridgefield, CT. PCA is an independent Registered Investment Advisory Firm providing individuals with comprehensive financial planning and investment management. The firm's founder and principal, R. Allen Purkiss, is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner with over 20 years experience in the financial markets both here and abroad.

Purkiss is also a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the nation's leading organization for fee-only comprehensive financial planning professionals. Currently there are only 19 NAPFA members in the State of Connecticut.

"As a fee-only advisor, I do not receive commissions nor do I sell special products," Purkiss said, adding "Clients want investment advice that is unbiased and objective. In recent years, individual investors have found this increasingly more difficult to find. That's why people come to me."

A top priority at PCA is personal service. "I plan on limiting the size of my practice so that my client base remains relatively small. That ensures a service that is personal and tailored to each individual client."

After starting his career as a Financial Consultant with Merrill Lynch & Co., Purkiss went on to become Director of Fixed Income Sales at a leading Spanish brokerage firm in Madrid, Spain. The firm was later bought by Merrill Lynch. His career in investment banking culminated in an appointment as Head of Non-Dollar Fixed Income Sales for a leading British bank in New York.

The Purkiss family lived in Darien for many years and has ancestral roots in Connecticut dating back to the 1600s. "We were visiting Ridgefield and someone offered to show us around. We had no plans for moving out of Manhattan, but we were immediately attracted to the strong sense of community and thought this would be a great place to raise a young family." Purkiss and his wife, Shira, now live in Ridgefield with their daughters Lilly and Alice.
